 
                        The 2nd General Assembly of CoSPAL, attended by 14 Speakers and Presidents of African Legislatures along with 16 representatives of Heads of Legislatures, marked a significant step in strengthening the organisation’s governance framework and institutional capacity.
Key achievements of the assembly included:
- Ratification of the CoSPAL Constitution, which formalised governance structures, including the establishment of an Audit Committee as a standing committee to enhance transparency and accountability.
- Endorsement of the Host Country Agreement, reaffirming Nigeria as the permanent headquarters of CoSPAL.
- Election of Leadership:
- Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, Speaker of the Parliament of Ghana, was elected as the Chair of CoSPAL.
- Five Vice Chairs, representing the five African regions, were elected to serve on the Executive Committee.
- Members of the Advisory Committee and Audit Committee were also elected.
- The Secretary-General, the head of the CoSPAL Secretariat, was appointed to oversee day-to-day operations and ensure the implementation of the organisation’s objectives.
 
All officers derive their mandates from the CoSPAL Constitution, which serves as the foundational framework for their roles and responsibilities. This assembly represented a milestone in CoSPAL’s journey, enhancing its governance structure and reinforcing its commitment to fostering legislative collaboration and unity across Africa.
